My customer purchased a plot of land and sent me a message with the cadastral drawing and a reference image of an architectural concept. His request was clear: could I recreate on this site the same layout I had designed for them seven years earlier in a penthouse just one street away?

I developed a floor plan within the constraints of the zoning regulations, fully aligned with the residents’ wishes. From there, I shaped the architecture around it. The details that I defined as essential to the interior became equally decisive for the exterior expression. I submitted my designs to an architectural firm, asking whether they could translate them into technical drawings.

And so, The Emberfield House came into being, a minimalist contemporary farmhouse, fully clad in black barnwood and rich in subtle detailing, featuring an indoor swimming pool, a basement level, and every form of luxury. Upon entry, the interior unfolds like a warm embrace calm, refined materials, and carefully orchestrated natural light define the spatial experience.

The garden, swimming pool and basement level are still in completion, which is why the project has not yet been fully captured.

FOUNDER AND CREATOR

In five years, I was trained under the master himself, Jan des Bouvrie, before moving to Kabaz. In 2022, I chose to expand my own creative language and direction. Club l’Interieur was born from a drive for creative independence and a curiosity for entrepreneurship. Founded without predefined constraints, the studio has since delivered considered work across both residential and commercial landscapes where space is treated as composition, and detail as language.

Recent work includes the headquarters for Dutch children’s brand Little Dutch, multiple restaurants and residences. This month, April 2026, marks the completion of this project defined entirely through my own authorship where proportion, atmosphere, and detail are meticulously composed into a singular spatial narrative — THE EMBERFIELD HOUSE.

Club l’Interieur X Rowé

Together with my partner, ROWÉ design studio, we will open our studio this summer on the Brouwersgracht 123 in Amsterdam. Moving from The Hague to Amsterdam marks a deliberate shift towards a future defined by growth, precision, and enduring design values.
